Free Guestbooks

Guestbooks are very popular on personal web sites and even some small business web sites. They are a place where your visitors can leave a small comment about your web site.

• (4-15-00) phatSTART - Free guestbooks with sign up for free web space.
  
  
• (4-09-00) Cgi2Go - Judging from their demo guestbook, this is about as ordinary as it gets. However, they do offer many other useful scripts, all for free.
• (4-09-00) CGI For Me - Along with Cool Guest (see below), this is a great guestbook. As with Cool Guest, CGI For Me allows you to control the HTML, allowing it to look like the rest of your site. The only downside of this guestbook is the amount of advertisements (I counted 5 on their demo page).
• (4-09-00) Cool Guest - The self proclaimed "coolest guestbook on the web" scores big with their guestbook. They let you control the HTML output of your guestbook and the ability to password protect, among other things.
• (4-09-00) DownSouth Network - Painfully average. There is not much to say about these guestbooks, except that they do not have advertisements.
• (4-09-00) Dreambook - Another average guestbook provider. They do put ads on your guestbook, but they also have one of the faster servers for a guestbook provider.
• (4-09-00) Guest-Books.com - Even though advertisements are put on the guestbooks, this is without a doubt one of the best guestbooks available. You are able to put in your own HTML, or use premade templates. The only downside is the server speed, which is not exactly terribly slow, but not something to jump up and down about.
• (4-09-00) Hosted Scripts - A free guestbook service that seems to be well organized judging by their list of services. There is not much to say about Hosted Scripts since they do not offer examples of their work.
• (4-09-00) Miatrade Free Guestbooks - A guestbook service that has a good product. Unfortunately, it seemed that the guestbooks had little in the way of customation and there are ads and popups.
• (4-09-00) Midmart Guestbooks - Midmart offers guestbooks with a good deal of customation. There is no example guestbook, so additional information was not found.
• (4-09-00) NexWebSites Guestbook Wizard - An average guestbook service that allows the normal customation, such as title, link color, and more.
• (4-09-00) TenZero - A notable feature about this guestbook is the "swearing filter," which automatically filters out inappropriate language.
• (4-09-00) ToolZone - A guestbook aimed at the beginning webmaster. All that is needed is cut and paste HTML.
  
  
• 1-2-3 WEBTOOLS - 1-2-3 WEBTOOLS offers a guestbook that is very customizable. You can customize just about anything that you want. They also add the date and the time that the guestbook was signed at.
• Alx' Free Guestbook Service - Alx' offers a great guestbook that looks very professional. If your guestbook is used a lot, the guestbook entries are seperated to different pages.
• Free Guestbooks by Phaistos - The self proclaimed 'most advanced' guestbook of them all.
• Guest Page - Very nice guestbook. Recently changed from unlimited entries to 500, but most sites won't even have to worry about that.
• GuestWorld - GuestWorld currently has over 1.5 million guestbooks in use. GuestWorld was formerly known as LPage.
• Linko - Linko is located in Korea, so it might be slow at times to people in the United States. Linko also offers free counters, message boards, and web site promotion.
• Plaza Guestlodge - Currently over 4000 guestbooks in use. The guestbook has a clean way of showing the guestbook entries (through tables).
• Webpost guestbook service - A very basic guestbook that only has basic items to customize (text color, background color, and etc.)
